Tour 1.

Guwahati-Shillong-Cherrapunjee 4N/5D

Itinerary:

Guwahati 2 Nights + Shillong 2 Nights

DAY 1: Pickup from Guwahati Airport / Railway Station to Hotel

After Lunch Sightseeing: Srimanta Shankardev Kalakshetra. Take a river cruise in the evening (cruise at additional charges).

Overnight at Guwahati

DAY 2: After breakfast drive to Shillong: Enroute visit Umiam lake; Overnight stay at Shillong.

DAY 3: Shillong sightseeing with Cherrapunji.

After breakfast drive to Cherrapunji (60 km). The beautiful waterfall-Noh-ka-likai is at Cherrapunji. Explore some of the caves in and around Cherrapunjee.

Return to Shillong, en-route visit Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views. Stay overnight at your hotel in Shillong.

DAY 4: Post breakfast Shillong local sightseeing (if not completed ) and transfer to Guwahati

Day 5: Early morning Visit Kamakhya Temple.

Post lunch drop at Airport/Rly station for return journey.

Guwahati-Shillong-Cherrapunjee-Mawlynnong 5N/6D

Itinerary:

Guwahati 2 Nights + Shillong 3 Nights

DAY 1: Pickup from Guwahati Airport / Railway Station to Hotel

DAY 3: Cherrapunji Full day sightseeing

After breakfast drive to Cherrapunji (60 km). The beautiful waterfall-Noh-ka-likai is at Cherrapunji. Explore some of the caves in and around Cherrapunjee. Return to Shillong, en-route visit Elephanta falls and Shillong peak for some breathtaking views. Stay overnight at your hotel in Shillong.

DAY 4: Shillong sight seeing with Mawlynnnong.

DAY 5: Post breakfast Shillong local sightseeing (if not completed ) and transfer to Guwahati

Day 6: Early morning Visit Kamakhya Temple.

Post lunch drop at Airport/Rly station for return journey.

Visit to experience:

Kamakhya Temple- Study about the current structure that has been built during the Atom times,with remnants of the earlier Koch temple that is been carefully preserved.

Nohkalikai- Nohkalikai waterfalls are one of the highest waterfalls in India. A nature lover’s paradise, the Nohkalikai Falls are the 5th highest beautiful scenic waterfall. The water roaring, gushing down from a height of 1115 ft, the falls are a majestic sight.

Mawasmai Caves- Understand about natural resources. Caving is an art and made of limestone. The emotion of thrill heightens as you enter the cave. Dripping of water from the cave roofs and the formation of stalactites and stalagmites, wonderful phenomena specially found in limestone caves. The legend the Mawsmai Caves were discovered by the Khasi tribesmen while they were out for hunting. Initially the caves housed several animals which were later hunted down by the tribe.

Umiam Lake- Learn more about Water Preserving, Effective use of natural Resources. a majestic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills.

Donbosco Museum- Don Bosco Center for Indigenous Cultures or DBCIC is an exclusive endeavor by the Silesians. The architecture and structure of the building is unique and reaches up to seven floors from the ground. The construction is in the shape of honeycomb which allows ample fresh air and light to pass through and generates. Ward’s Lake- Learn more about natural resources. One of the most popular attractions. Ward’s lake also known as Pollock’s Lake. This artificial water body is encircled by an extensive lush garden. Take a walk around this horse-shoe shaped lake on the cobble-stone path or simply admire the colorful floral beds in the garden.

Stat Zoo-Botanical garden- Understanding about Sculptures and Assam region. The exquisitely landscaped Gardens was established in 1982. A home to diverse species of herbs, palms, shrubs and conifers, it spreads over an area of 85 hectares

Mawlynnong/Mawlynnong Village- Located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. The village known for its cleanliness is located around 90 kms from Shillong and is a community based eco-tourism initiative. The community has made collective effort to maintain the ambience of a clean village. The village offers picturesque natural beauty, a trek to the living root bridge at a neighbouring village Riwai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock.
