In the year 1411, sultan Ahmeshah made this beautifully sculptured city of Ahmedabad. This city is situated in the banks of the river Sabarmati. Tourists can see the attractions of Ahmedabad in a single day with a cab or auto. The attractions of this city are Bhadra Fort, Watch- House, Sidhdhi Syed Jali Masjid, Queen Sipri’s tomb, Gita Mandir, Swami Narayan Mandir, Iskon Balaji Mandir, Haati Singh Mandir and etc. The Kakaria Lake which is the home of several breeds of birds also adds to one of the attractions of Ahmedabad. By centering the city of Ahmedabad tourists may also visit some of the outskirts of Gujrat. 74kms away from Ahmedabad is a narrow lake where in winter migrating birds nest. On this lake there are several small islands where tourists may reach by boating and can see the birds.
From Ahmedabad 100kms away is a place which is famous for the Surya Mandir. This temple is a magnificent example of the Solanki art and sculpture. It’s seven storied lengthy underground well made out of clay.
