The Holiness of Dalai Lama, this Dharmashala is situated at an elevation of 1830 Mtrs in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Dharmashala has a magnificent view of snowysnow capped peaks, deodar and pine forests, tea gardens and beautiful hills spreaded at the foot of Dhauladhar range. The place is divided into two parts, lower Dharmashala and Upper Dharmashala. The first one is the Civil and business area with Courts and Kotwali bazaar and the second one is composed of places like Mcleod Ganj and Forsythe Ganj.

Dharamsala offers the tourists  wide ranges from temples, churches and monasteries to museums, ancient towns and places of natural beauty for sightseeing.

Mcleodganj (1770m):

The place is called Little Lhasa and known for residence of His Godliness of the Dalai Lama.

Tsuglagkhang Complex:

The largest contemplation hall has some beautiful statues and thangkas as also Kalachakra temple having magnificent murals is the largest Tibetan temple outside Tibet. The monastery of the Dalai Lama is situated just in front of his home. Namgyal Café will also be found out on the basement level of the compound being run as a work-training center for the youth of Tibet.

Indrahar pass:

Passes through the snowbound Dhauladhar Range in the Kangra valley. This Trek ends at Lamu.


If you want to explore, climb the hill beyond Dharamkot to Triund. Provides a beautiful view of the first peaks of the Himalayas and a wide view over the plains. If you plan to stay overnight at Triund there is a Forest Rest house. 


The nearest airport is at Gaggal, 13 km away.


Pathankot, the nearest broad gauge railway station is 85 km away and the toy train station is 17 km at Kangra.


For Manali 215 km frequent bus services are available. One can drive from Delhi via Chandigarh, Kiratpur, Bilaspur and it's an 8-hours journey. From Delhi and Shimla, luxury buses ply to Dharamsala. Well connected with other tourists destinations of Himachal Pradesh. Palampur 35km.
