Nako at 3600 m is a small village in Kinnaur valley of Himachal Pradesh adjacent to Tibetian border. By the side of the village there is Nako Lake and at the center of the village Monastery. It is said that the monastery was established by Rigchemn Zangpoo in 996 AD. To have a visit to this small village permission is required from Reckong Peo as this area is very close to the Tibetan border.
As this small village of Nako falls within the restricted area of Tibetan border an Inner Line Permit is required from Reckong Peo.
In winter season tourists are restricted to have their journey from Shimla district.
