Sarahan, the gateway to Kinnaur region, is located in the Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. Earlier Sarahan was the summer capital of the Bhushyr kingdom.
Bordered with alpine forest range Sarahan offers extraordinary hill architecture, temple complex against the excellent setting of high ranges and forested slopes. The temple of Bushair is a complete mixture of Hindu and Buddhist styles. From Sarahan get a nice view of the Srikhand Peak which is revered as the home of goddess Lakshami.
The palaces of the royal Sarahan (2165m) is situated on the mountain slope. River Sutlej is flowing through this hamlet of Hi.
In the winter the weather remains contended with light snow falls in winter.
