Situated in the District of Rajsamand of Rajasthan the place was developed and dominated by Rana Kumbh and his dynasty (from 15th to 19th century) who were predominantly the predecessors of Sisodia.
Rana Kumbha was the architect and designer of Kumghalgarh and his kingdom prolonged from Ranthambore to Gwalior. Out of the 84 forts in his realm, Rana Kumbha is believed to have sculptured 32 of them and the Kumbhalgarh is the largest.
MUST SEE IN KUMBHALGARH

The Fort:

Located on the banks of Banas River, the rounded fortification was one of the least-known yet historic architechture of Rajputana. This domed palace has 36 km long winding walls that built to secure the city from enemies. The walls are wide enough for eight horses to march. For years the Kumbhalgarh Fort has protected its rulers during the crisis.

The two-storied Palace, known as Badal-Mahal, is marked with oil paintings. The Zanana Mahal is provided with stone jalis which facilitated the queens to see the court proceedings and other events privately. The views over the walls to the green hillsides and across the deserts of Marwar are simply stunning.

 Navachoki Mamdeva Temple: 

This temple is located on the eastern side of Kartargarh having slabs made of black granite which dfepicts the history of Mewar. Also see the cenotaph of Maharana Kumbha Close to the Navachoki Mamdeva Temple.

Kumbhalgarh festival:

This festival (during winter season.) is launched by Rajasthan tourism to promote heritage destination kumbhalgarh as well as promoting the arts & culture, the festival brings together many of indias finest classical musicians and performing artists and had showcased renowned dancers. Festival highlights include dance performance by local artists, in which the more courageous audience members are encouraged to participate as well, guest can participate in musical chairs and tug of war both big attractions for young children.
