The Sariska Tiger Reserve (national parks) is located in the Alwar district of the state of Rajasthan.The Park is nestled in the Aravali Hills covering 800 sq km area. Sariska tiger Reserve is having grasslands, dry deciduous forests, cliffs and rocky landscape.
The park is home to numerous carnivores including Leopard, Wild Dog, Jungle Cat, Civets Hyena, Jackal, and Tiger. Species like Sambar, Chital, Nilgai, Chausingha, Wild Boar and Langur are frequently found here. Sariska is famous for its large population of Rhesus Monkeys.
The avian world is also well represented with Peafowl, Grey Partridge, Bush Quail, Sand Grouse, Tree Pie, Golden backed Woodpecker, crested Serpent Eagle and The Great Indian horned Owl.
In the centre of Sariska Tiger Reserve there is Kankarwadi fort built by kind Jai Singh second. Mughel emperor Aurangzeb imprisoned his brother Dara Shikoh at Kankarwadi fort. A temple of lord Hanuman is situated at Pandupol which is connected with Pandavas.
