Munsiyari is a hamlet of Kumaon hills in the Pithorgarh district of Uttarakhand. Munsiyari is located at height of 3853 Metres ( 12634 Feet) on the western Himalaya on the banks of a river Goriganga. The place is sourounded by deep forests and filled with many species of wildlife. Some of the animals that can be spotted here are bears, leopards, panthers and deer. The best time to visit Munsiyari is from the months of March to June and September to October

Birthi falls: Located 35kms before Munsiyari, it is a beautiful waterfall surrounded with verdant colors. Birthi Falls is falling down from 126mts of height.

Darkot: Darkot is a small picturesque hamlet situated 6kms from Munsiyari on Madkot road. You can buy pashima, shawls and sheep wool blankets from here.

Nanda Devi Temple: An light 3km nice trek from Munsiyari to the sacred Nanda Devi Temple.

Maheshwari Kund:  Maheshwari Kund is just a few kilometers walk from Munsiyari. This spot is now a pond offering panoramic vistas of nature. Panchachuli peak can be seen from here.

Betulidhar: An ideal skiing slope in winters, it has a large garden full of rhododendrons. Betulidhar is also famous point to watch sunset.

The treks  A number of challenging treks from Munsiyari to Namik, Milam and Ralan glaciers via the narrow Johar valley, an ancient trade-route to Tibet, are worth going to. Another popular trek is towards Balati Farm where the view is unmatched in terms of its sheer splendor.

Rafting and Skiing Goriganga is ideal for river rafting and white-water rafting and in winter season, the snow-laden slopes of Khaliatop and Betulidhar at higher altitudes offer unmatched opportunities for skiing.
