Nainital, the queen of Kumaon hills of Uttarakhand state  is a a favorite tourists spot for its snow-capped peaks, beautiful valleys as well as meadows and the lakes.  add a whole lot of charm to the place.

Boating, feeding animals at the zoo, exploring the hills - Nainital has all that tourists and nature lovers could expect from a hill station. Nainital is set in two parts, Tallital and Mallital, with the lake separating them. Tallital is the southern side of the lake, while Mallital consists of the northern upper reaches. In the year 1841, Mr. P. Barron was the first person to build a permanent house besides the lake and, gradually, a full fledged township grown up at the very place. 


Mall road: The Mall road stretches from the north end to south end of the lake. The mall is the busiest road on the hill town and place of commercial activities.

Naina Devi Temple: Situated atop the Naina hill, it attracts lots of devotees each year. It is believed that Goddess Sati's eyes fell at the exact same spot where this temple is built. The temple can be reached by climbing to the top of the Naina hill. Apart from the main idol of Maa Naina Devi, inside the temple there are two idols, one of Mata Kali Devi and the other of Lord Ganesh.

Naina peak: The Naina Peak gives magnificent panoramic view of the snow capped Himalayas and an excellent view of the Nainital city. 6 km from Naini lake you can approach on horse back or light trek.

In the month of October, this fair is celebrated at an enormous scale. Cultural programmes like Folk Dances and Folk Music Conserts and display of the local art are organised during the fair. The fair attracts a large number of visitors that includes foreign tourist.   


Nainital is served by PantNagar Airport, located about 2 hours away.
