Jhalong is another offbeat beauty of Dooars at Himalayan foothills. The picturesque destination is on the bank of Jaldhaka on the way to Bindu in Kalimpong Sub-division.
The large reservoir of Jaldhaka hydro electric project provides a great opportunity for the bird lovers to enjoy a varied collection of Indian birds as well as migratory water fouls. Eurasian Wryneck, Crested Kingfisher, Brown Dipper, Hodgson's Redstart, Slaty-backed Forktail, Little Forktail, Rufous-necked Laughing thrush are some of the recorded species found here.

Bindu is only 107 km from Siliguri. Surounded with hills of Bhutan and India on the banks of river Jaldhaka Bindu offers a fascinating landscape. The road that leads to Bindu is in itself an unforgettable experience. There is also the possibility of sighting wild life on the way. The peace ful residents of surrounding localityof Bindu are mainly engaged in Elaichi (Cardamom) or Suntala (Orange) cultivation.
Just a few kilometers away from Bindu and paren on an accentuated height is Godak village. On either side of the road there are Cardamom and Orange plantation. From here, you can have a view of the few villages of Bhutan, Paren and Bindu. On the way to Godak Government has set up a Cardamom Curing Centre for the farmers.
