TRAVEL IN CHITKUL SHOW MAP
Chitkul (3400 m), in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, is the last inhabited village near the Indo-Tibet border where the Indian roads ends. Situated on the banks of Baspa river the first village of the Baspa valley the last village is on the old Hindustan-Tibet trade route. Also have the last point in India which one can travel without having a permit. Potatoes are grown here which are one of the best in the world and are very costly. 
From December till May when the snowfall is heavy the valley remains closed. May to September have pleasant days.
