Located on the bank of the Arabian Sea, Porbandar is the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi. The Kirti Mandir is the main attraction of this place. There is also a prosperous museum in this temple. Beside the temple is the house of Gandhiji’s wife Kasturba.  6kms away is the Bharat Mandir.  Here people will find statues of great men of India and the huge map of India. 8kms away from here is the Swaminarayan Mandir whose art and sculpture is worth praising. People will find the Ambaji and Sudama Mandir in this old city. On one side of the sea shore there is port which remains crowded every evening. This whole city of Porbandar can be visited in one day only.

Darbargadh:

This fortified palace was built by the Rana Sartanji. This palace is well known for its huge carved stone entrance gate, high turrets and massive wooden doors.  This royal place also good examples of large mansions with courtyards and delicatedly carved wooden elements. Kirti Mandir: Kirti Mandir was the house of the Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba, his wife. This place is situated near the place where the Mahatma Gandhi was born. This place is now a small museum and also has a Gandhian library and a prayer hall.  Sartanji Choro:  This three storey summer palace was built by Rana Sartanji. This palace was built in the middle of the garden. The structure having pillars with images of musicians, profusely carved foliated arches and a single dome at the top.
