This hamlet contains around 30 households who are largely reliant on agriculture, but some of the locals have come up with the concept of running a homestay, which has been growing in popularity as the number of guests has increased The trekkers who descend from Phalut to spend the night here before continuing to Riddi or Srikhola are the majority of the tourists. Gorkhey is a valley covered by a thick pine forest with a tiny river running through it, and it is one of the lesser-known sites in the Darjeeling hills. The Gorkehy Khola, which divides Sikkim and West Bengal, is the name of the river. Gorkhey has a relatively small population, with just 30 households dwelling in the village. While the majority of the people rely on agriculture, others have come up with the concept of starting a guesthouse. The residents of the valley are extremely kind and treat guests with great respect. Gorkhey is the place to go if you want to spend some alone time in the presence of Mother Nature.

Our associate property is a cottage sized homestay in Gorkhey, West Bengal’s Darjeeling area. ‘Denver’s Gallery’ is the place to go if you want to satisfy your senses with a night in the woods, a springtime mountain, or a wet walk.
Mr Bal Daju’s family is in charge of the property’s upkeep. Mr Daju is a gentleman and a gentleman. The hospitality of his family was outstanding. They organically produce as much food as possible on their farm. Organic potatoes, vegetables, and maize are all available. The cottage is close to a mountain river and the West Bengal-Sikkim border. The booming sound of the river may be heard throughout day and night.
The sound of the river’s cascading water and the scenery of the river create a dreamlike atmosphere. The property’s exterior resembles that of Switzerland.

You’ll feel incredible peace, your lungs will be filled with fresh air, and your spirit will be able to reconnect with nature. Allow your nervousness and anxieties about meeting deadlines to go away as you relax. Time passes at a glacial rate here, but who cares, you’re on vacation.
Gorkhey’s lush valley is bordered by West Sikkim’s hills, including the Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary, Phalut, Rammam, and others. All of these locations are easily accessible from Gorkhey, making the valley unique among Himalayan hikers. The local step cultivation, evergreen towering pine trees, and numerous types of plants may all be seen on a nature walk around this valley.
Guras/Rhododendron is a unique bird species that makes you succumb to Mother Nature as a fish in the water or a bird in the sky.
How to reach:
Due to the lack of motorable roads leading to the settlement, the only way to reach there is on foot. One of the most magnificent and stunning hiking routes in the eastern Himalayas awaits you on your retreat.
