Attraction:
The Gorumara Jungle Safari is a genuine pleasure for rainforest-lovers who
appreciate being in the middle of forest creatures and marvelling at their
daily existence in the jungle. The experience you will have here will be carved
in your memories for the rest of your life. The surrounding surroundings are a
birdwatcher’s dream, with abundant vegetation and animals. We organise an early
morning and sunset safari in an open Jeep with the Forest Department to
experience this.
There’s a lot to see and do in and around Gormura National Park, so be ready to dive
right in. One such place is Chalsa, a village in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri
district, nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Himalayas. A section of
this town is bordered by Gorumara National Park, which is covered in greenery,
huge tea gardens, and tall hills, while the other half is surrounded by
Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary, which is covered in foliage, enormous tea gardens,
and towering hills. This is a great site to see a variety of animals and birds,
which is why it is a popular destination for photographers, nature enthusiasts,
and animal lovers.
How to reach:
The nearest airport to Gorumara is Bagdogra. Siliguri, New Jalpaiguri, and New Mal
Junction rail stations provide access to the park.
Lataguri is the park’s entrance. Near the park, National Highway 31 connects Siliguri
and Guwahati and runs via Lataguri, Chalsa, and Nagrakata. From NJP, Siliguri,
Kalimpong, and all other key North Bengal sites, buses and care are available.
