Reshikhola (or Rishi Khola) is a beautiful tiny valley in the eastern Himalayas, located on the banks of the river Reshi. Reshikhola, 37 kilometres from Kalimpong, is a riverbank site worth seeing. This lovely hamlet is located between West Bengal and Sikkim, separating the two states. The Reshi River, which runs through this region, gives it its name and provides a strange environment. Khola also refers to a “little creek” in Nepali. This river valley is surrounded by woodlands, which are home to a variety of birds as well as larger animals such as bears which visit on occasion. The amazing natural splendour of this location is well known.

    It’s a remote spot where nature is free to play because it’s its home. Because of its distinct flavour, Riverside camping receives a lot of attention from tourists. Camping on the bank of a river at a height of 2000 feet above sea level is equivalent to daydreaming for many devoted travellers. “Khola” is a Nepalese word that refers to a little stream. The river has improved and is now known as Reshi. Reshikhola is a river that divides the states of Sikkim and West Bengal on a topological level, hence it has geographic significance. Mountains and a large lush green Himalayan forest zone border the river.
    Property:
    Our Rishikhola Retreat is situated right on the banks of the Rishi River. While staying at our Retreat, visitors may enjoy the rushing Rishi River, the lush nature that surrounds the whole property, and the hypnotic beauty of the hills in the distance. Several Himalayan birds visit the outskirts of our resort throughout the day to greet the travellers with their cacophony. This resort is a pleasant place to stay in Rishi or Rishikhola.
    Our wooden-furnished rooms include adjoining bathrooms and western toilets. Each room can accommodate between 4 and 5 persons at a time. Short hikes and trekking can be arranged upon request. All of the foods supplied are organic and handcrafted. The retreat also provides local cuisine upon request. Guests may also enjoy the riverside bar-b-que. There is also parking available.

    Reshikhola, being on the boundary of both states, has to offer vistas of Himalayan valleys, snow-capped mountain ranges, pine forests, and a plethora of other local tourist attractions. Below is a list of them:
    Aritar is a little tranquil hamlet noted for its possession of the well-known Aritar Lake, also known as Lampokhari Lake. It is possible to enjoy some pleasure by boating on it. Aside from the lake, there are also the Lingsay Monastery and the Old British House to see. Pedong Monastery is one of the oldest settlements on the Old Silk Route circuit, located near Kalimpong. For the monks, the Pedong Monastery is a wonderful location. The monastery’s carved paintings are truly amazing.
    The Reshi River is a famous tourist destination for bathing and fishing. On moonlit nights, the starlit sky that overlooks the Reshi River is a sight to see.
    Reshi is a fantastic spot for a wide range of thrilling activities. ‘Angling’ is a fascinating adventure activity that one may participate in if they visit Reshikhola during the day, and Trekking is a fascinating adventure activity that one can participate in if they visit Reshikhola.
    How to reach:
    The distance between New Jalpaiguri Railway Station and Reshikhola is around 105 kilometres, and the distance between Bagdogra and Reshikhola is approximately 118 kilometres.
    On previous reservations, one can get a taxi directly to Reshikhola using the trip planner. The first step is to get to Kalimpong, and then a few kilometres downhill will take you to your destination.
