Srikhola Homestay

Srikhola Homestay

Do you wish to spend a few days away from the noise, crowds, and pollution, immersed in nature’s enchantment? Do you wish to take a break and live in a fascinating environment in complete peace, away from the hustle and bustle of city life?

If yes, Srikhola is a great place to visit, specially you enjoy the lush forest, the gushing sound of a magnificent river, and the chirping of various birds. It is a picturesque hamlet in Darjeeling District that is located along the trekking route from Phalut and Sandakphu to Darjeeling and Siliguri. Sri is the name of the small river that follows its meandering course, and Khola means small river in the Lepcha language, hence the name Srikhola. This settlement is an excellent rest stop for trekkers returning from Sandakphu or Phalut.

It provides beautiful natural beauty as well as peace for fatigued travellers. Stay the night here and leave the next day for Rimbik to board a bus to Darjeeling or Siliguri. It is only 4 kilometres from Rimbik and 41 kilometres from Manebhanjan.

You must go across the woodland track if you are considering a route from Sandakphu. Srikhola is around 16 kilometres from Sandakphu. You can, however, stop at Gurdum, a village 4 kilometres from Srikhola.

Srikhola is around the same distance from Gorkhey, about 21 kilometres. As a result, stopping for the night at Rammam, a small village 12 kilometres from Srikhola, may be a decent plan for a beginner trekker.

You can even spend a few days here in the middle of a lovely environment if you don’t want to go on a trek. Cars are available from both Darjeeling and Siliguri.
