Waterfall Treks: The Ramti river provides a plethora of gorgeous and breathtaking waterfalls, most of which are modest but intriguing to view. Once you begin your trip from Yelbong village, you will come across several such rivers deep into the bush, ideal for resting and relaxing.
River Canyon: The river canyon is one of Yelbong’s most appealing attractions. This site is both scary and exhilarating, and it is one of a kind in India. The water isn’t deep, making exploring simple, but the peculiar nature of the rocks and the tiny channel are sure to give you the creeps.
Ramti River: The tranquil banks of Ramti, a tributary of the Ghees river in North Bengal, are a 25-minute walk from Yelbong hamlet. The area is covered with stones and pebbles, making it simple to sit and rest. The vista of the Kalimpong hills in the distance adds to the beauty of the scenario.
Limbuni: A short stroll will take you to the confluence of the Ghees and the Ganges rivers. For the villagers, Limbuni has strong religious importance. You may watch their nighttime cultural shows while eating Kalimpong’s traditional cuisine.
Rainbow Waterfall: In North Bengal, there’s a three-step waterfall that produces a rainbow! This gorgeous setting is created by the Ramti river, which flows down 20 minutes from the village. September through December is the optimum time to visit this location to see the brightest rainbow.
How to Reach
To get to the settlement, use the route through Bagrakot; the remaining 4 kilometres can only be reached on foot or by 444 vehicles (available on request). It’s close to New Mal Jn, and it’ll take about 2.5 hours from Siliguri to go there. Bagrakot is only about 18 kilometres away. The final 4 kilometres may only be reached on foot or in a 44-car.
