The Gurung Guest House, a small Homestay managed by the local Gurung family, is nestled in the comfortable lap of the lovely Himalayan village of Tinchuley.

Attractions:
Tinchuley’s main draw is the tranquilly of its surroundings; you may take a walk among the many pine and oak trees that abound in the region. There is very no traffic on the road, and you may spend the entire day contentedly meandering through the countryside, oblivious to your city worries.
Dawn point is a great spot to see the sunrise in the morning. In addition, the East Himalayan mountain range may be seen from this elevation. The Tinchuley Monastery, which is located near the viewpoint, is well worth a visit.
Gumbadara viewpoint offers a panoramic view of the Teesta River, and Gumbadara rock and cave lie just above the viewpoint. Gumbadara rock and cave is a natural cave with a narrow entrance that is ideal for climbing practice.
Takdah, Lamahatta, Mangwa, and Darjeeling are all nearby tourist spots.

How to reach Tinchuley

Around 32 kilometres from Darjeeling, one may reach the nearest station, NJP, by drive, which would take around 3 to 4 hours. From Bagdogra, NJP, Siliguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong, however, you may take both reserved and shared cabs. Darjeeling to Takdah buses is also available.
If you’re coming from Darjeeling, you’ll take Peshok Road to Mile 6. To go to Tinchuley via Takdah cantonment area, turn right here and continue the woodland road.
The road via Teesta Bazar is the shortest if you are coming from the west, such as Kalimpong, Gangtok, or even Siliguri. Tinchuley is reached through an inconspicuous route with a hard rise from Teesta Bazar. The distance from Tista Bazar is only 15 kilometres.

Tinchuley often spelt Tinchule, is a Darjeeling-area Mountain settlement. It is a tourist spot that attracts nature enthusiasts who like to go off the beaten path.
Tinchuley began as an eco-tourism venture in the 1990s, with WWF’s active assistance.
Homestays and other sustainable initiatives, such as organic farming, were launched as part of the effort.

Over the decades, tourism in the region has increased dramatically, and Tinchuley now boasts a surprising number of homestays, lodges, and resorts in and around it.
Tinchuley refers to three chullas (a chulla is a type of oven), which are depicted by three conspicuous hilltops that represent the three chullas. It is a region’s upcoming tourism destination. Tinchuley is a small hamlet near Darjeeling that may be accessed after a 32-kilometre trip. Siliguri is 80 kilometres away, Kalimpong is 35 kilometres away, and Gangtok is 88 kilometres away the residents of this peaceful community took the initiative to make their community a model organic village. The town has created Village Home Stays with the support of organisations such as the WWF. The locals were also interested in contemporary farming and created floriculture, vermiculture, and organic initiatives with the support of WWF.
Tinchuley is becoming a popular tourist destination. With the help of the WWF, it is being developed as a model community. WWF has assisted 17 local families in developing the idea of Sustainable Village Tourism.
The Majestic Kanchanjunga towers over the whole region, providing breathtaking Himalayan vistas. Village tourism is a speciality of the location, and visitors may go on village tours, nature excursions, and tea garden visits throughout their stay. The unspoilt natural forest is a birdwatcher’s dream, and dawn views from certain locations in this region are highly praised.
